SALEM, NH -- Innovative Foto, a vertical-market manufacturer, operator and distributor of photobooths, has chosen the DP40 dye sublimation printer from Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd. (Tokyo) to upgrade its photobooths around the world. The firm, which runs some 3,000 photobooths in the United States alone, anticipates nearly 100% adoption of the durable, versatile printers by the end of 2014.

Innovative Foto saw the need to upgrade from its current printer to a more durable and cost-efficient alternative. After studying its options it turned to DNP, an international innovator of dye-sublimation photo printing products, for a reliable solution.

Innovative Foto is a turnkey provider that manages the setup and maintenance of each photobooth and pays its locations a portion of the monthly revenue. It was important for Innovative Foto to find a solution that was easy to install into the existing booths. The company plans to integrate two DS40 printers in each photobooth to eliminate waste through an auto-switching process that activates the second printer if the first one runs out of film.

"The inkjet printers we previously deployed had short lifespans," said Dale Valvo, Innovative Foto's president and chief executive. "We needed to find a more durable printer that was capable of printing the high volumes of photos we needed on a daily basis. The DS40 offered us a more dependable option with a print engine that is good for well over 200,000 full-bleed prints."
