
<p>The Lotteries Commission has used security footage at least eight times to uncover oblivious Lotto winners and give them their winnings.</p><p>Figures released under the Official Information Act show that last month the commission spent more than $7700 hiring a private investigator to fly to Christchurch to track down the recipient of a $22.6 million prize.</p><p>The investigator was provided with records of dozens of Lotto tickets and scratchies bought at Pak 'n Save in Riccarton within a 20-minute window, including how much each person spent and what they bought.</p><p>The information was used along with the supermarket's CCTV footage to track down the surprised multimillionaire at his Christchurch home.</p><p><a href="http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/9414221/Candid-camera-bags-oblivious-big-winners">Keep reading...</a></p>
