
<p>Markus Spiering's love of photography ultimately led to him to Flickr, where he leads the global product direction and product management team.</p><p>Prior to joining Flickr, the avid photographer authored a book for fellow photographers on how best to use Flickr. After publishing his how-to book, he started thinking that users shouldn't need to read a book to understand how to use the photo-sharing program it should be simple. In 2011, he joined Flickr.</p><p>As the head of product, Spiering led the biggest redesign of Flickr in years, including significant updates for its iPhone and Android apps and one terabyte of free space to all Flickr users. Under his leadership, Flickr has reached 92 million unique users and daily photo uploads have increased 3x across the company's desktop and mobile experiences.</p><p>My first-ever job: Someone who does tiling on walls (and) floors.
