
<p>PHOTOGRAPHS from abroad come into two main categories ones which are of the family simply enjoying themselves or put into the foreground of a scene as a memory of their visit; the other photographs are scenes which captivate the visitor to the point of lifting the camera and wanting to save the memory or the more abstract images.</p><p>Our selection here covers nearly all of those, the abstract selection of colourful magnets makes a simple image, while the more traditional image of the Grand Canal in Venice always makes a stunning shot.</p><p>I find Italy one of my favourite places to photograph, not only because of the scenery like the Amalfi Coast, but the architecture and history in places like Florence.</p><p>It's well documented by artists over the ages but the light in the Mediterranean has some sort of magical quality.</p><p><a href="http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/News/Blogs/Behind-the-lens/Some-ideas-for-Backing-Up-and-accessing-your-photographs-remotely-20131213152425.htm">Keep reading...</a></p>
