
<p>Jesse Welter pulls back a chain-link fence on Park Avenue near downtown Detroit with one piece of advice: Look like you belong here.</p><p>Five adults duck through the opening, camera bags under their arms, and flatten themselves on the snowy ground on this Jan. 3 to enter an abandoned building through a 2-foot-high gap.</p><p>Welter, 42, of Royal Oak hosts urban exploring tours for photographers. He has been doing so since 2011, charging $50-$70 per tour. As a photographer himself, he's able to provide advice on composition and exposure. As a veteran explorer, he's able to give safety advice to anyone who RSVP's to his Motor City Photography Workshops on Meetup.com.
