<p>Last week, we published our review of the Nikon Coolpix A, the first truly mainstream entry in the large-sensor, fixed prime lens camera market. At the time we noted that we were simultaneously working on a review of the Ricoh GR, a close competitor which was announced just a few weeks later, and which is both smaller and more affordable.</p><p>As our full review of that camera draws closer, we've just published a gallery with no less than 43 real-world Ricoh GR sample images -- and to ensure that they provided a valid basis for comparison against the Coolpix A, we shot all of these gallery images at the same time as those of its just-reviewed arch-rival.</p><p>The Ricoh GR is the smallest, most affordable large-sensor, prime lens camera on the market.</p><p>A good proportion of the images we've selected cover the exact same subjects as for the Nikon, with similar exposure variables. (Both cameras were shot at their defaults, with the exception of the file format and exposure bracketing, as well as enabling Auto ISO on the Nikon to match Ricoh's default.)
