<p>Nokia's new Lumia 1020 smartphone camera portends the death of the traditional point and shoot camera. To say it is good in comparison to most happy snappers may be an understatement.</p><p>It's a 4G smartphone with a massive 41MP camera. Enthusiasts can get it from Telstra and major retailers from 17 September and Optus from 1 October - either on a plan or outright purchase for $899.</p><p>The camera has a second generation 41 megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics and six physical lenses to produce the sharpest images of any current smartphone or digital camera. The sensor resolution allows almost lossless zoom or to reframe select part of a photo.</p><p>The camera simultaneously takes a 38-megapixel high-res JPEG image and a shareable five-megapixel image.
