<p>Michael Woodford exposed the alleged scam which is said to have involved attempts by the firm to disguise losses of around $5 billion (3.12 billion), and was subsequently dismissed as president and chief executive.</p><p>In 2011 he went public with his concerns, resulting in the prosecution of three former executives, Tsuyoshi Kikukawa, Hideo Yamada and Hishashi Mori.</p><p>Prosecutor Duncan Penny, for the Serious Fraud Office, made an application for a preparatory hearing at Southwark Crown Court.</p><p>Gyrus Group Limited faces four counts of making a misleading or false company statement to an auditor, KPMG, in April 2010 and to Ernst &amp; Young in March 2011.</p><p><a href="http://www.standard.co.uk/business/olympus-in-the-dock-8836637.html">Keep reading...</a></p>
