<p>If you're shooting with the Nikon D610 digital SLR or Coolpix P7800 premium compact, and you want to tame the distortion and perspective issues in your photos, there's good news from French software company DxO Labs. They've just updated DxO ViewPoint, their tool for correcting various common image defects, and it now supports both cameras.</p><p>DxO ViewPoint 2.1.1 is available immediately, and just like previous releases, it can function either standalone or as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Photoshop Lightroom, as well as for Apple Aperture. ViewPoint can fix barrel, pincushion, or fisheye lens distortion, volume deformation from wide-angle lenses, and complex perspective problems. It can also straighten horizons, and crop your images automatically to account for the corrections you've made.</p><p>Four-point perspective correction in DxO Viewpoint 2.</p><p>The Nikon D610 started shipping last October in the US market. It's a lightly-upgraded variant of the D600 with improved burst shooting rate and a fix for the oil-on-sensor problem of its predecessor.
