
<p>I remember the days when my mother taught me my alphabets on a slate with a chalk. Apart from the notebooks in school, the slate, roughly the size of a 10 inch tablet today, was my first learning book. Nowadays, it is different! Technology is booming and bringing about a revolutionary change in every walk of life. Using laptops instead of notebooks in schools was cult one point of time. That has now advanced to tablets. The same 10 inch tablet is now technological enhanced and has tons to offer more than the subtle chalkboard.</p><p>While laptops have advanced and one would find today a range of digital notebooks, expensive ultrabooks and Macbooks, the US based Google has thrown another variety with its Chromebooks.</p><p>What exactly is a Chromebook?A Chromebook is simply a personal laptop running on the Google Chrome Operating System (not Apple's Mac or Microsoft's Windows). It is designed to be used while connected to the Internet and support applications through the Web, rather than the downloaded traditional applications that reside on the laptop itself. All the data is stored in the external network "cloud" accessed by an internet connection.</p><p>How are Chromebooks different?A Chromebook is comparatively much cheaper and lighter than a regular laptop.
