We have scanned and saved lots of our old photographs onto our old XP machine, using Photoshop, and saved as .psd files. They have been copied to a Windows 8 laptop for my wife to look through. Is there a simple free utility that you can suggest to open these files in W8? We would prefer not to have to buy Photoshop again. In case you do want to edit any images then try an Open Source alternative to PhotoShop called The Gimp, or a more basic editor called Paint.Net, though you will need to install a .psd plugin.
