<p>The iconic image of E.T. and Elliott flying across the moon let our imaginations run wild but then, that's what movies are for.</p><p>Swiss photographer Philipp Schmidli took a similar picture earlier this year of a cyclist in front of an enormous full moon on the horizon, and comparisons to the famous Hollywood photo were simply inevitable. So, Schmidli decided to bring that picture to life.</p><p>Schmidli recreated the scene using a ramp, a few bikes and even a E.T.-esque figure for the basket. Three bikers Roger Gruetter, Matthias von Rotz and Pascal Roethlin were enlisted to play Elliott.</p><p>However, the hardest part of the recreation was the size of the moon behind the bike. Schmidli used an 800mm lens and a 2x teleconverter to get the required focal length. He placed himself over the next hill.
